The most prominent hands are Adam and God's hands (Sistine Chapel). Upon vast space I've mounted 20 small canvases depicting historical, famous and/or socially significant hands. The largest hands (one black, one white) forming the heart gesture (my hope for racial harmony). Hidden is Michelangelo's David in space. Each 6x6 canvas has (gallery wrap, left/right sides) 8 more hand related paintings.

I had a rare opportunity to go inside the old school house at the Coloma gold discovery site. It was fortunate to have a young lady in period garb act as a schoolmarm getting ready for the day. This image, evoking the Motherlode area and era, obviously begged to be rendered in monochrome and a slight sepia cast, and I removed some details that did not seem to fit the historical timeframe.

During the virus lock down, I started painting my self-portrait. Then made it a tribute to my cat (Prince Charming) who was my painting buddy but no longer with us. I miss him. The artist and cat sit in front of the painting. During the pandemic, like the sea, it was a dark and stormy time, very destructive, powerful, and yet beautiful which depicts what this artist believes.

The smoothly curving and stepped reflections of lines of colored lights on a vinyl couch at MEOW WOLF in Santa Fe caught my eye and I snapped a photo. I rotated the image 90 degrees to achieve an upward flowing look and then applied a range of treatments to make it into what I hope is an interesting and elegant abstract.
